Career & Technical Education
Gainesville ISD offers career and technical education programs in Accounting and Financial Services, Agricultural Technology and Mechanical Systems, Animal Science, Culinary Arts, Digital Communications, Engineering Foundations, Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services, Law Enforcement, Plant Science, Teaching and Training, Agricultural Technology and Mechanical Systems, Automotive and Collison Repair, Cosmetology and Personal Care Services, Fire Science, HVAC and Sheet Metal, Manufacturing Technology, Web Development, and Welding. Within these programs of study, GISD offers 19 certification opportunities.
Students begin career exploration in elementary school, and in eighth grade, all students identify at least one program of study and endorsement area for their graduation plan. Students are encouraged to select courses that are consistent with their college and career plans.
